I think that it is the easiest mountain for the younger crowds to get to (bus service right to the gondola), and that means that it is both extremely busy, and not a high level of maturity in the majority of the patrons. For example, when you see someone bail, you make sure that they are okay, not see how close you can fly by when you pass them. I’ve been to Grouse a couple of times, and I was not impressed. It's so nice :) Glad you guys had a good time. You're right that coming on a week day makes it way quicker to get on the lifts. Evenings are great too. There are only a few days a year that are super busy like that - a few over Christmas break, spring break and any sunny weekend day. If you come when it's overcast or inverted, it's much quieter.
